We build what hasn't been built yet.

Four Birds is a deep-tech innovation studio. We design, engineer and commercialise hardware and software, from first principles to market-ready products.

We operate at the intersection of hardware, software, intelligence and strategy, taking on problems that don't have an off-the-shelf answer.

Hardware & Product Design

Physical products, engineered precisely

From wearable devices to complex physical systems, we design, prototype and validate hardware built for real-world use and regulatory pathways.

Software & Web Development

Platforms that scale with your ambition

Custom web and application development, built clean and fast. Whether a client-facing product or an internal tool, we build software that lasts.

AI & Intelligent Systems

Intelligence, applied usefully

LLM integration, AI-powered tooling and intelligent automation, including novel infrastructure-level AI solutions for search and discovery.

IP Research & Strategy

Your ideas, protected and positioned

We research patent landscapes, identify IP opportunities and help build commercialisation strategies that protect what you have built.

Digital Presence & SEO

Found by the right people, for the right reasons

Search strategy, technical SEO, and digital architecture, including next-generation AI search optimisation (GEO) for platforms and brands.

We don't do templates. Every engagement starts with a genuine understanding of the problem and ends with something that works in the real world.

01

Rigour over speed

We ask harder questions upfront so we're not solving the wrong problem at pace. Good technology starts with a clear-eyed brief.

02

End-to-end ownership

From napkin sketch to working product, we stay in it. We don't hand off and disappear. We build, test, iterate and deliver.

03

Designed to scale

Every solution we produce is architected for growth, beyond its first market, its first user, and its first version.

We sit at an unusual intersection: the technical depth of an R&D lab, the delivery pace of a product studio, and the commercial instinct of people who have built and shipped things before.

Cross-disciplinary by design

Our work spans wearable hardware, AI infrastructure, agritech and IP tooling. That breadth is not accidental. It is how we spot solutions others miss.

Built for regulated and grant-funded environments

We understand the documentation, rigour and accountability that serious funding bodies and enterprise clients expect.

Global reach, boutique attention

We work across global markets with presence in New Zealand and the Czech Republic, with the focus and care that only a small, senior team can provide.

Four Birds is led by two founders with complementary expertise across technology, product and business.
